The Card

The years after my fortnight on Outlander have been filled with various plays and teaching opportunities. In fact, I'm currently teaching with TFX in Inverness. The last big thing was Spamalot and we had amazing audiences and fantastic reviews.

But the big, BIG news (well, for ME it is!!) is......that I have finally been accepted into Actors Equity UK. The card came in December. Now, I know Equity will accept a certain quantity of SA (Support Artist) work for membership, but I wanted to be accepted through recognised acting engagements....such as my visitors interactive piece in the Scottish Museums retrospective on WW1 over a couple of days in Nairn and my weekend with the Royal College of General Practitioners, for final year students to get some hands on practical exam experience.

Of course, I had to choose a stage name, because Gordon Taylor was already in use. It had to be something not already on Equity, Spotlight or the IMDb and my eventual choice was to go with a family branch name - Ryde.

My name was accepted and so now, that's me.....Gordon Ryde! Also, my LAMDA exam result from last year was 90 with a Distinction!
